A young couple gave me two boats, a Scorpion (Sunfish clone) and a Laser II.
The Laser was in pretty good condition but was a dull orange color and missing shrouds.
About a quarter million Lasers have been built since their introduction in 1971. The Standard
Laser has only a main sail of 76 ft² and no jib, but the Laser II has a main and jib, and
it can even be sailed with a spinnaker! You can imagine by looking at all that
sail - this boat is fast! There are several good video
clips of the Laser 2 on YouTube.
I made new shrouds and painted the hull with Interlux
Perfection 2-component paint. The Laser II now has a new owner in Maryland.
The Holsclaw trailer was missing a fender and needed paint, but was otherwise
fine. I added a jack-wheel, mast support and new lights.
